The House System
Belonging to a smaller community within the life of the school.
Every student is assigned to a house and remains part of that community through school, with opportunities for friendship across age groups, participation in competitions, shared identity and student leadership — grounded in cooperation and fair play.

Our Houses
Every St. Peter's student belongs proudly to one of our four historic houses, carrying forward school traditions, athletic camaraderie, and ethical leadership.
Ashlin

Described as one of the original houses and named after Lady Mary Ashlin, who is associated with the foundation of the school.
Drury

Named after former Principal J. Drury, whose tenure is currently recorded as 1919–1921.
Rowan

Formed after 1941 and named after former Principal Thomas Rowan, whose tenure is currently recorded as 1908–1918.
Cornwill

Formed after 1941 and named after Rev. S. Cornelius Williams, described as a benefactor of the school.
House Activities & Competitions
A balanced annual fixture combining sports, academic oratory, arts, community service, and cross-age pastoral mentoring. Select a domain below to explore.

Sport & Athletics
Inter-house track and field meets, football, cricket, and hill marathons where every member contributes active points.
House Leadership & Responsibility

House Leadership
Each house has a House Master and a House Captain. The current structure — including the adult house team, selection process, term of office and training.

Leadership with Responsibility
Student representatives learn to organise, communicate, include quieter members and model respectful behaviour. They are not placed in disciplinary authority over other students or expected to handle safeguarding matters.
House Results and Stories
A current calendar, selected results and short stories recognise participation, improvement, sportsmanship, creativity and service — not only the scoreboard.

Inter-House Cross-Country & Team Spirit
Students from all four houses ran across campus hill paths, with senior house runners cheering on junior runners to finish their trial.

Annual Variety Programme Rehearsals
House drama captains and music coordinators collaborated across age groups to stage cohesive theatrical and choral acts in Jubilee Hall.

Inter-House Chess & Mental Discipline
Quiet concentration in the hall as junior and middle-school players represented Ashlin, Drury, Rowan, and Cornwill on sixty-four squares.
